Through the Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, the government on Friday announced plans to among others, introduce surveillance cameras in the leading towns.

But Miguna has now taken issue with the strategy pointing out in part of a tweet that; "Surveillance cameras don't "investigate" crime. Well-trained, competent and ethical police officers do."

He poked holes into the confidence being out on the surveillance cameras, arguing that the already present ones have not been of any help, even in solving murders of prominent persons.

The lawyer cited the late Jacob Juma and former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT chief Chris Msando, terming plans to install surveillance cameras as another strategy to help the corrupt.

"The surveillance cameras have not helped you "capture" the goons who tortured, murdered and mutilated Chris Msando. Just another conduit for looting," he added in part of another tweet.

Miguna, who remains exiled in Canada, has not been in good terms with Matiang'i since his deportation in February last year, which he has blamed on the CS and the Jubilee government.

He has repeatedly accused the CS of dishonouring court orders allowing for his return to the country and as well refusing to appear before the court even after being issued with orders.
