There was drama at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital on Tuesday afternoon when a woman stripped naked to avoid arrest by the police.
The woman, an illicit brewer in Embakasi Division has been on the police radar after the police raided her chang’aa den on Saturday.
The police conducted an operation to rid Soweto area of illicit brews but the operation sparked protests in the area leading to three people being shot.
The woman on Tuesday went to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital to visit the three who sustained gunshot wounds said to be her customers.
K24tv.co.ke reports that the woman removed all her clothes including her underwear when she saw the police at the hospital ready to arrest her.
The middle-aged woman started screaming saying that the police are unfairly targeting claiming the she is innocent.
The woman shocked many at the hospital as she tried to hide from the police inside the hospital while naked.
A woman at the hospital gave her a shawl which she used to cover her nakedness before the police moved in and arrested her.
The woman was bundled into a waiting police van and she was taken to Soweto police post where she is being detained.
K24tv.co.ke reports that later on, the woman’s husband identified only as David alias Daudi surrendered to the police after his first wife was arrested at the hospital and his second wife was arrested on Sunday.
The three who will be arraigned in court are said to be ringleaders in illicit brew business in Embakasi Division.
