Speaking on Saturday on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Wazwazi show, he said that the situation has been worsened by members drawn from Mt Kenya region who are now divided into four groups.

According to the lawmaker, apart from the known Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga groups, there are the new Hema and Wanjiku factions causing more confusion in the party.

"There is a big division in Jubilee. Others are calling themselves Team Tanga Tanga, Team Kieleweke, Team Hema and Team Wanjiku (Kule Jubilee kuna mgawanyiko mkubwa tu. Kuna wengine wanajiita Team Tangatanga, Team Kieleweke, Team Hema na Team Wanjku)," he said.

He called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta, who doubles up as the party boss to convene a meeting, failure to which the party might deteriorate and collapse before 2022 polls.

Mwaura said that the exchanges and fights being seen within the party result from fights between imaginary enemies, a situation that can only be solved through proper communication.

"There is some incitement and things might further worsen. People are now fighting imaginary enemies due to the absense of meet (Kuna kuchocheana na inaonekana mambo huenda yakawa mabaya zaidi. Watu sasa wanapigana na imaginary enemies kwa sababu hatukutani)," he added.

The popular Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke groups have been engaging each other in verbal wars since Uhuru's truce with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga in 2018.

The Deputy President William Ruto allied Tanga Tanga team which is opposed to the handshake has been accusing their colleagues in Kieleweke of undermining Ruto.

On the other hand, Kieleweke has taken issue with Tangatanga's engagement in early campaigns, saying that it goes against Uhuru's directives.
