It is now to the last 16 stage as the remaining teams begin to search for a place in the quarter-finals.

Two games have been lined up on Saturday as France face Argentina from 5.00 pm while later in the day at 9.00 pm, Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal will clash with Luis Suarez's Uruguay.

This World Cup has been closely followed by University of Eldoret (UoE) students with most of them expressing mixed reactions after the tournament enters the next level.

"Group stages had not been easy for different countries and the round of 16 will be 'fire'," Larry Koskei said.

"Our African countries didn't qualify to the round of 16 but I will be supporting team Brazil since they are heroes," Omollo said.

"Hii round of 16 tunangoja sana tuone vile 'watu' wataenda nyumbani though I was much sure that Senegal was to qualify for this round but eventually didn't manage after they lost one goal to Colombia, am a real supporter of Brazil," George Kuria, another university student said.

"Now real World Cup will start today unlike group phase where one can get a chance to play and score some points for the purpose of qualification but now if you lose you go 'home'," Joan said.

Brazil has been a favourite team for many students in the university and here are some reasons;

"I am supporting Brazil since I predicted that they will be the winners of 2018 World Cup," Kibet Festus said.

"Brazil has enough skills and potential of winning this cup," Omondi added.
