Speaking in Keroka town on Saturday, Apondo argued that during this August holiday when pupils and students are at home, bar and night clubs owners should be on the lookout not to accept underage.

"I want to reiterate that bar and night clubs owners found to have admitted underage children will be arrested and sent to jail. No underage child should be allowed to sit and consume alcohol in bars or night club," the OCPD said.

He further cautioned that the bars and night clubs found admitting underage will be shut down and their licences revoked.

The Keroka police boss, however, said parents should also not allow the children to attend discos at night clubs.

"No license will be issued to anyone found allowing underage children. The sale of alcohol should be strictly for adults. We have enough police officers who will be patrolling in Keroka especially at night when underage girls and boys are likely to sneak out of their houses to attend discos and drink alcohol," he stated.

The OCPD also challenged parents to coordinate with police and ensure immoral behaviors among underage children is not condoned.
