A woman alleged to have killed her neighbour by stabbing her to death was arraigned in a Nakuru court on Monday.
The accused, Bethseba Mogoi, is reported to have stubbed Linet Kemunto 19 times after she caught the deceased with her (Mogoi's) husband.
The incident took place at Kapsita village in Molo on February 22, 2017, and police interrogations confirm that the accused's husband was at the Kemunto's house the night of the incident.
A Senior Medical Officer who was presented in court as a witness confirmed to the court that indeed the late Kemunto died after losing too much blood from the stabs she sustained.
“The deceased had four stab wounds on the head; the right sub-mandibular region extending to the right face, the right occipital vertex on the scalp and one on the right cervical region extending to the spinal cord,” George Biketi, a doctor from St Joseph Hospital said as quoted by The Standard.
The doctor's report revealed Kemunto's body was found with a total of eight stab wounds.
The Investigating officer, Constable Edwin Metto, pointed out that Kemunto's husband was also arrested following the death of the victim.
“The husband of the accused was arrested by members of the public. After interrogation, I established that he was at the deceased’s house that night,” Constable Metto stated.
A murder weapon is yet to be recovered. The case will resume on February 4, 2020.
