Arguing from the point of history, this could be the reasons why I think Sonko is likely to be on a path to political greatness;
First, the imprisonment of the late Nelson Mandela made him the father of South Africa.
Secondly, the detention of ODM leader Raila Odinga without trial made him the father of the second liberation in Kenya.
The arrests of Kenneth Matiba and Charles Rubia made them the greats of the quest for multi-party democracy.
The ICC charges that were bestowed upon President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto made them political giants in Kenya and propelling them to winning the 2013 presidential election.
The arrest and harassment of lawyer Miguna Miguna made him the NASA general in 2018.
Sonko getting charged in Kibera in 2010 entrenched him as a Nairobi politician and made him a darling of the Nairobi residents.
This current arrest and prosecution of Mike Mbuvi Sonko over graft related charges are likely to make him the darling of masses even more.
Everything works for politicians. They have just introduced Sonko even more to the people of Kenya, everyone is asking why are they fighting him? History sometimes repeats itself.
