Nyamira County Secretary Eric Onchana has broken his silence after securing his freedom frim Kericho Court where he was arraigned over contempt of court.
Speaking after his release, Onchana lauded a section of Nyamira locals who stood firm by his side following his arrest on Tuesday evening.
"I was arrested on behalf of Nyamira County government for failure to pay some court related debts or civil legal liabilities," he said.
Onchana further said: "On behalf of my family members, colleagues, friends, associates and on my own behalf I wish to thank all of you for your solidarity and demonstrated understanding."
He reiterated that he won't succumb to unnecessary pressure being piled on him by lazy county staff who were sent packing for failing to deliver to Nyamira electorates.
"During my continued tour of duty in Nyamira County am continuously indebted to work with and for all the people of Nyamira County," he added.
The Head of Civil Service and Secretary to Governor Nyagarama's Cabinet was freed on Sh200,000 bond on Wednesday.
He is accused of failing to pay Sh1.6 million to a former employee Mr Alloys Moseti, a former political adviser to Governor John Nyagarama
Moseti was sacked in 2014.
