Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta for fighting corruption.
While responding to Uhuru’s State of Address, Kalonzo said that Uhuru has proven beyond doubt that he is ready to safeguard public resources from looters.
He said that Uhuru has said more than 10 times that he will not condone selfish officials in his government as long as he still remains in office.
“The President of the Supreme Court was in the House. He said that he doesn’t intent to rough up the judiciary yet he has a duty to point the way forward which I think he has done," he said.
"As I said he has repeated more than 10 times hatarudi nyuma in the fight against corruption which is the issue of the moment. Kenya is expecting to see prosecutions and even went to say people should be arrested,” he said in
African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga also praised Uhuru for the unifying speech.
“I don’t think it is the duty of the President to fire anybody. This is supposed to be the state of the nation address. He had to say, in his view, what the nation is doing and I think in that regard he did very well by highlighting key issues that affect the lives of the people of Kenya,” Raila said
