Residents of Kitui County have told former Governor Julius Malombe to give the incumbent Charity Ngilu time to effectively serve them.
Led by their spokesman Kyalo Wambua, they said Malombe should accept that he lost on August 8, 2017, elections and move on.
Wambua said the Court of Appeal just confirmed to Malombe what choice Kitui people made on the ballot.
"We know who we voted for, Malombe should stop messing with us. He should accept the court's verdict and move on," Wambua said.
They spoke to this writer in Kitui town on Thursday.
Wambua said Malombe should have read between the lines when he first lost his case in high court.
He said Malombe's track record failed him and that's why Kitui people voted for his arch-enemy.
Wambua said the governor did nothing which would make him win the elections for a second term.
"Malombe was in the third position, a clear indication he never won. Why is he trying to force himself on us yet we don't want him? We made our choice, let him respect them," Wambua concluded.
On Thursday, the Court of Appeal ruled that Charity Ngilu won Kitui gubernatorial seat free and fairly on August 8, 2017 elections.
