Kapseret Sub-county Police Commander Francis Warui has banned all political meetings and disco matanga in Kipkenyo ward.
This after the supporters of the area MCA Hillary Ronoh and that of businessman David Letting alias Kokwas on Sunday clashed in the ward.
Letting who unsuccessfully vied for the Kipkaren MCA seat in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket, was arrested alongside Brian Kiprotich Lagat, Denis Baraza, Patrick Lagat, Cornelius, and David Kimeli Letting for allegedly causing violence.
“From today I don’t want to see any political rally or any politician meeting his supporters anyone how will be found will face the full force of the law,” said Warui.
Speaking to Kipkaren residents at Yamumbi on Friday, Warui said this will help improve security which has deteriorated due to the threats by supporters of the two politicians.
“I also urge residents to maintain peace and should refrain from being used by a politician to cause violence after being given some money, this will not help you but instead you will be arrested and charged alone,” he added.
Warui called on residents to work as their watchdog and report anyone causing violence and promised to take stern action against them.
He said its only residents who will bring peace and not politicians.
Letting who was also present vowed to maintain peace and restrain his supporters from causing any violence.
