The National Assembly Leader of the Majority contends that the initiative will go a long way in cushioning the country against the threat that terrorism poses.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Wednesday, the MP said that the war against terror will be won through concerted efforts.

“Nyumba Kumi is the only tool that can help us win the war against crime and especially terrorism," he said.

The MP noted that it is important for Kenyans to know their neighbours.

He pleaded with landlords, hotel owners, entertainment joints and other public facilities to always demand information from people who visit their facilities daily.

Duale, who was reacting to the Tuesday Dusit terror attack, lauded security agencies for their quick response.

He said that security forces showed improved coordination compared to the 2013 Westgate terror attack.

The MP asked Kenyans not to allow terrorism to cause division on religious grounds.

He contended that no religion subscribes to terrorism.

On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed that at least 14 lives were lost in the Dusit terror attack.

The president also confirmed that six suspected terrorists behind the attack were eliminated by security forces.
