Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has said that the second edition of Machakos Fun Run will take place on 7 December 2019.

In a tweet on Thursday, the county boss, who has been preparing for this run for a long time, posted a map of the routes that will be used and captioned it: 

''The 2nd Edition of the Machakos Fun Run will be held on Saturday, 7th December 2019. We recommend that you plan your travel routes within Machakos as per the diversions given below,'' said Governor Alfred Mutua.

Various routes that will be affected during the fun drive include; Kitui-Nairobi road, Kangundo-Nairobi road, Machakos-Kangundo road, Kangundo-Matuu-Kitui road and Nairobi-Makueni road. 

For every road that will be affected, alternative routes have been indicated for motorists.

The race dabbed #RunForHealth will include 5km, 10km and 15km where participants will be expected to register with Sh.400, Sh600 and Sh800 respectively. 

All proceeds from the Fun Run will be taken to HOREC which is an organization which takes care of those children who are affected by HIV/AIDs. 

They give the children access to good health, education, shelter, psychosocial and other things needed for their well being. 

The Fun Run will be held by Machakos County in conjunction with HOREC.
