A family from Mwongorisi area in Nyamira County is looking for a body who has gone underground after he was allegedly asked to repeat in class seven (7).
According to Dorine Nyaboke the boy's mother, her son reported back to a local primary school where his class teacher asked him to repeat in class seven due to his poor performance.
"My son returned home on Friday from school at 11 am and said he won't repeat in class seven as his class teacher advised him. He threatened to escape from home if I couldn't change him to another school to sit for his KCPE exams," said Nyaboke.
Nyaboke said her son living true to his threats, he packed all his belongings and left home on Sunday.
"I went to church and left him at home only to return back and found his clothes missing. I alerted neighbors and we launched a search but, he is nowhere to be seen," said the mother.
A local chief Henry Onteri said the boy is being searched to be taken back to school.
"Anyone with information about the boy should report immediately. He had scored poor marks which won't qualify him to join class 8," said the chief.
