Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has hailed the outgoing Auditor-General Edward Ouko for his exemplary performance during his tenure in office.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is completing his second and final term in power, on Tuesday, August 27, the position vacant. Passaris said that Ouko had the best interests from different parts of the nation at heart. 

She said that Ouko will be missed at the office because he worked smart and with diligence before the end of his term. 

“Edward Ouko had nothing but Kenya's best interest at heart. Underfunded and under pressure, Ouko transcended tribe and politics to bring honor to the Office of the Auditor General. Thank you my brother for a job well done. Stay true to yourself always,” she said.

In a Gazette Notice number 8004, President Kenyatta has asked Kenyans from different walks of life to present the letters of application in readiness for interview. 

The applicants must have at least 10 years’ experience and extensive knowledge of public finance among others.

“All applications should be submitted together with detailed CV, a copy of national ID or passport, copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and any other relevant supporting documents,” reads a part of the gazette notice.
