Opposition politicians and supporters should fully rally behind former Prime Minister Raila, Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli has said.
A section of politicians from the opposition have questioned Raila's new relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which began with their truce and consequent closeness.
Though a number of them have ended up embracing it, Atwoli now says that the truce should not be questioned in any way, given that the group allowed Raila to lead it.
According to him, as their leader and that of the National Super Alliance (NASA), its now his job to chart the way forward and make decisions for the group, which justifies his truce with Uhuru.
"Once you make someone a leader; you have accepted that part of my mandate as leader is to make decisions for you and as a leader, once you make a decision for me, its me to support you," he said, in an interview on JKL.
He said that people should not feel betrayed by Raila's latest actions, as he must have found it necessary, even after leading his side to a political war against Uhuru's in 2013 and 2017.
He faulted the remaining NASA principals for accusing Raila of leaving them in the dark before the handshake, noting that as juniors, its their job to follow and not to be consulted.
"The entire NASA accepted Raila Amollo Odinga as their leader. You don't need to know, you need to be informed," he added.
Despite their questions earlier, Raila's co-principals in NASA; Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have accepted the truce, though the alliance has been limping.
