Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has dismissed claims by his Kandara counterpart Alice Wahome that National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty does not cover infrastructure construction in schools.
Alice Wahome has been on the wrong side of social media users after photos of dilapidated toilets in a school in her constituency emerged online.
The MP had defended himself claiming fixing toilets was not part of her mandate.
"I challenge those who have commented to tell me where in my contract as an MP i was given the job of fixing school infrustructure then you will make sense, Wajinga Nyinyi. Haters," Alice Wahome responded to a Twitter user recently.
Ngunjiri Wambugu waded into the debate on Monday and told off the MP over her claims.
In a post on his official Facebook page, he said: "Each constituency gets slightly over 100M each year through the NG-CDF to deal with issues related to security, health, sports, environment and emergencies. Each MP is the Patron of this fund."
"In Nyeri we are using these funds to rehabilitate the infrastructure of all our public schools; which includes the school toilets. We have done several and will continue to do more until all are covered," added the vocal MP.
