President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to meet leaders from Mt Kenya at the Sagana State Lodge on Friday.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is among the leaders expected to address the meeting as Uhuru seeks to calm the tension in the region ahead of the release of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The head of state is expected to ask the leaders to back his handshake with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga. 

The invited leaders include governors, senators, MPs MCA's, county commissioners and representatives from various sectors. 

The programme indicates that several leaders have been lined up to address the function. The meeting will start with a prayer from Pastor Peter Munga who will be representing the Kikuyu Council of Elders. The former Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe has been named the master of ceremony of the meeting.

Besides Waiguru, Former Equity Bank Group chair Peter Munga has been picked to represent the business community while Former Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe will speak on behalf of professionals. Igathe is the current Executive Vice President in charge of Vivo Energy's sales. 

Embu Senator Njeru Ndwiga will speak on behalf of senators while Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has been named to represent MPs at the function.

Others who will speak include Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, Cabinet Secretaries Margaret Kobia (Public Service), Joe Mucheru (ICT), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport), and PSs Kirimi Kaberia (Sports) and Karanja Kibicho (Interior) and
