Speaking during an interview with K24 on Thursday morning,  Khalwale took a swipe at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga over the Tsunami issue.

He said that the opposition leader had promised leaders opposed to the contents of BBI would be swept away but that has not been the case. He noted that the report has given them more power to continue pushing for what belongs to the taxpayers.

“The tsunami that we were told about has turned into a cool breeze,” he said.

The former senator said that the report did not fully involve the public. He lamented that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila had a hand in the contents of the report before it was made public. He asked the two leaders not to impose the report on Kenyans.

“The BBI did not allow robust public participation,” he added.

Further, he said that the function was not properly run especially the order of protocol saying that the DP should have spoken after Raila Odinga terming the former prime minister "Raia".

"Where did you ever find a situation whereby the Deputy President of Kenya invites 'raia kama Khalwale' to speak after him? Former PM ni raia."

During the launch of the report, President Kenyatta asked Kenyans from different walks of life to read and internalize the report before making any decision.

He reminded the nation of the need for reconciliation. Raila and Deputy President William Ruto echoed the same sentiments.
