Kiunjuri hours later convened a press conference, where he accepted his sacking, claiming that it has relieved him from repeated humiliation from the president.

However, political analyst Ambrose Weda has poked holes into the remarks, terming them unnecessary, and urging Kiunjuri to exit silently without making any more drama.

Speaking on Wednesday, Weda, also a close ally of the president, stated that Kiunjuri should be grateful for being handed such a sensitive ministry despite the fact that he never played any role in Uhuru's election.

"I think he should have been grateful to have been appointed. He was never with the president having bolted out. When we were campaigning with Uhuru he wasn't there, he was in GNU (Grand National Union)," he said on KBC English Service.

According to Weda, Kiunjuri was not expected to deliver from the start and was just picked for hailing from the president's backyard.

He termed this the reason by which he has been more involved in politics while his docket is ailing.

"We are here having eaten all our grains yet he is jumping up and down and that is why nobody is complaining about his sacking. The only reason why he was picked and Weda was not is because he is a boy from home," he added.

Weda is also an advocate of the High Court, a member of the Lake Basin Development Authority and a former chair of the Sony sugar board.
