One of the counties that have been greatly affected is Turkana county making leaders and celebrities offer to help save lives.

Controversial artist Esther Akoth, commonly known as Akothee had this week come up with a pay bill number of her own to raise money that will be used to help the families affected in Turkana.

As at Thursday 21st March evening, Sh3 Million had already been collected through her fans and well-wishers according to an Instagram post by the Abebo hitmaker.

"Our God is Able. Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honours God. Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for they have done," the artist announced in an Instagram statement.

When she first made the move to open the pay bill number, Akothee vowed to engage her friends and fans to raise as much as they could. She also said she will deliver personally whatever she will have collected by Saturday 23rd to the families affected in Turkana.

The artist also confirmed that the Mvita Member of Parliament Shariff Nassir donated had 60 bags of maize and Mombasa Governor Ali Hasan Joho had offerred100 bags of maize.
