This follows the exit of Sudan's President Omar Al Bashir who has been at the helm of power for decades and Ongili wants Ugandans to follow suit.

The vocal Kenyan legislator commonly known as Babu Owino told Ugandans not to fear for it is possible to be free from the chains of "slavery and bondage".

"Ugandans must start demonstrations immediately. Bobi Wine by ballot or bullet. The tree of liberty is watered by the blood of her patriots. Fear not Ugandans God is on your side. It’s possible," he said.

Babu has been a great critic of Museveni over his refusal to relinquish power to the young generation.

Lately, citizens have been staging protests in different countries with Zimbabwe being the first with the successful ouster of Robert Mugabe, followed by Algeria.

Museveni and Burundi's Pierre Nkurunziza are the remaining few long-serving heads of state in Africa.
