Sh100 million award-winning teacher Peter Tabichi on Friday committed President Uhuru Kenyatta to prayers at State House in Nairobi when he was hosted by the Head of State.
The Franciscan brother, who was accompanied by his father Lawrence Tabichi and close family members, is seen praying for the president before holding talks over his unprecedented success in Dubai.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, a staunch Catholic as well, lauded Mr Tabichi as a true role model, adding that his success will inspire many generations in the coming years.
"President Kenyatta said teacher Tabichi is a role model and an inspiration to the society, especially to his fellow teachers and all Kenyan students. He commended teacher Tabichi's commitment and devotion to the work of educating the youth," State House said.
As part of recognising Tabichi's work at Keriko Secondary School in Nakuru, Uhuru said he will give Sh20 million to the institution for development given the outstanding performance of it's physics and math teacher
"President Kenyatta committed to donating Shs 20 million to Keriko Mixed Day Secondary School for the expansion of infrastructure, that will improve facilities geared towards encouraging the students to take science subjects," said the statement.
The prayerful teacher has credited his success to his father, a former teacher from Mokorongosi in Nyamira, who also taught them morals and Christianity in the Catholic Church.
Just like his predecessors, President Uhuru Kenyatta often goes to Catholic Church and is always seen with close family members whenever he goes to church.
