Sports Cabinet secretary Amina Mohamed has called for enhanced efforts in opening up education levels in arid and semi-arid areas to enable the country to achieve its potential in economic and social growth.
Speaking over the weekend at Kabarak high school during their 40th celebration since inception, CS Amina said that special focus on key issues of marginalization, gender parity and girl child education would be key to realizing a fully transformed country.
“There is a need for enhanced efforts in opening up education levels in arid and semi-arid areas to enable the country to achieve its potential in economic and social growth,” said Amina.
On his part, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi lauded the foresight which former president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi had in establishing the institution.
According to the Senator, Daniel Moi set a pace in education access that has continued to transcend across the nation and help to create a huge pool of professionals.
Present during the event included; Africa Inland Church Presiding Bishop Silas Yego, former first Principal of Moi High school, Kabarak Joseph Kimetto and Moi High school Principal Elseba Cheruiyot, Kabarak University Vice-Chancellor Henry Kiplagat among other guests.
