Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and his KANU counterpart Gideon Moi could reach a union agreement ahead of the approaching general polls, it has emerged.
This came out as the duo shared a podium during a fundraiser organized by Kakamega Senator Cleopa Malala in Kakamega Town on Saturday.
Mudavadi hinted at his readiness for a union with the Baringo Senator, noting that nothing is lost between them even after their separation in the last three polls.
"My relationship with Gideon and his family is a close one. I went to school with Gideon and we are still very close and good friends," he is quoted by the Nation.
A similar hint came from the Baringo Senator's side, with his close ally and Tiaty lawmaker William Kamket calling for a quick union, terming the two as the best combination to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gideon Moi is considered a sworn rival of Deputy President William Ruto, and so is Mudavadi who apart from having announced his presidential ambition for the approaching election, has since taken over as Ruto's chief critic.
Ruto has already made it clear that he will be in the race.
Also present for the fundraiser was a brigade allied to opposition chief Raila Odinga, another possible candidate in the much anticipated contest.
Raila was represented by a host of allies led by Siaya Senator James Orengo and his Homa Bay counterpart Moses Kajwang.
