Siaya Senator James Orengo is among politicians in the country known for courting controversy due to his numerous political pronouncements.
However, during this Easter period, Orengo seems to be in no mood for controversy owing to the Easter message he posted on his social media pages.
“During this Easter period forgive someone. Tell someone you love them. Let your light shine. May the resurrection of our saviour be a constant reminder of his love and promise of eternal life. #happyEaster2019,” Orengo posted on Facebook.
Easter is a period during which Christians around the world mark the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The season starts on Good Friday and goes on until Easter Sunday, characterised by prayer and night vigils in churches, as well as church services.
Orengo who doubles up as the Leader of the Minority in the Senate is a hard-hitting politician who leaves real or perceived opponents with a lot to think about.
The astute lawyer recently made headlines when he said there’s a possibility of Deputy President William Ruto being bundled out of office through an impeachment motion before the 2022 general elections.
His sentiments drew a lot of reactions with a section of leaders in the country warning against such utterances.
