Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe has remained unapologetic despite bashings and condnations he has been subjected to by fellow party members since Wednesday.

The latter has found himself in trouble following his attacks on Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday, after poking holes into the DP's 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking in Mbale, Vihiga County, Murathe cautioned Ruto against expecting the Central Kenya vote come 2022, hinting that Jubilee will back a candidate from western in the race.

"We did not sign any agreement that we would support him for the presidency in 2022. If they had such with President Uhuru Kenyatta then it between the two of them," said Murathe.

The remarks have since landed in on the reviving end from Jubilee leaders, including his fellow members of the Kikuyu community who have disowned him.

A section of Ruto's allies led by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei have as well hit out at him, terming him a political conman who has no space in the country.

But responding to the attacks on Thursday, Murathe insisted that he does not regret his declaration and was just airing the actual situation on the ground.

He maintained that with time, what he said shall realize, proving wrong his critics who, he said, are running away from the truth.

"I am not surprised by their reactions, I was simply saying what many people would want to say but are afraid to but time will bear me out," he said in a statement to newsrooms.
