Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has revealed that Wiper Party plans to revamp ahead of the 202 general election.
Speaking at Yekaanga in Makueni on Saturday, Mutula Jnr said that the Kalonzo Musyoka led party will actively compete in the 2022 general election.
Mutula Jnr who is also Wiper Vice chairperson dismissed claims that the party is divided, stating that those spreading false propaganda about the outfit are serving their own malicious interests.
Mutula Jnr further issued warning to some Wiper party members who he claimed are tarnishing the party’s name.
“We know this party is good but it has some bad people who we will not allow to spoil our good name as we move towards 2022,” he said.
The Makuei Senator stated that Kalonzo is the party’s presidential aspirant in 2022 and urged Kenyans to rally behind them.
He said that Kalonzo has the interests of the country at heart and should be given chance to ascend to power in 2022.
“Our party leader is firm and is ready to take up the country’s top leadership when the time comes,” he added.
The Makueni Senator said the party will vigorously market Kalonzo’s presidential agenda across the country.
He revealed that the party plans to start a nationwide grass toot campaigns to have young people register as voters.
Kalonzo is among top politicians who have declared interest to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 election.
The Wiper Party leader has been quoted saying that he has what it takes to take over leadership from president Kenyatta.
In his quest to be president in 2022, Kalonzo is also said to be eyeing to seal key partnership with top politicians.
There has been talk that the former Vice President could pick former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth as his presidential running mate in the 2022 general election.
