Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday engaged in a heated debated with Nairobi Lawyer Donald Kipkorir following the cancellation of the Kimwarer dam project.
It all started when Kipkorir took to his official Twitter handle and thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for the cancellation of the multimillion project.
The vocal lawyer said Uhuru had done a recommendable thing for cancelling the project.
"Thank you President Uhuru Kenyatta for cancelling Kimwarer Dam Project .. It was a SCAM .. I have always said so ... Am happy you have allowed Arror Dam to be reviewed .. My mother comes from Arror .... Review of Arror Dam & just compensation to my mum’s clan will be appreciated (sic)," he tweeted.
The remarks did not augur well with Murkomen who came forth with his gun blazing.
The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said that the lawyer supports the suspension of the project because it is not located in his region.
Murkomen noted that Kipkorir doesn't understand how the residents of the region feel after the new development.
"The only problem you have with Kimwarer dam is that your mother doesn’t come from there. My goodness," he noted.
The lawyer responded by reminding Murkomen not to embarrass himself in the name of fighting for the project where billions cannot be accounted for.
"Bwana Senator, am seeing you are nearly walking naked in public ... I hear rumors the Italian Mafia is demanding refund of all monies they paid to Kenyan Politicians, KVDA Managers & Treasury Mandarins .... The Bible is clear that you can’t worship God & Money," Kipkorir hit back.
