Washington DC has reiterated her efforts to vanquish drug lords, insisting that the mission will not collapse however long it may take.
The United States pushed for extradition of Akasha brothers; Ibrahim and Baktash, and the two have since been sentenced for engaging in drug trade.
US Ambassador Kyle McCarter on Tuesday said those involved in attempting to block the extradition of the two will be dealt with in the coming months.
McCarter said the US will do everything it can to bring to books those who were named as accomplices in the case that was closely followed.
“My message to them is simple: ‘Beware … We’ll look for you; we’ll come for you,” said Mr McCarter.
“If we have the ability to do it, we will do it.” On the ongoing war against corruption, Mr McCarter said the US administration has already stopped a senior personality — whom he did not name — from travelling to the US.
While the names of those and FBI surveillance remain highly guarded secret, a number of lawyers, Judges, politicians and Magistrates are linked to the case.
On Tuesday, lawyer Cliff Ombeta accused the US of attempts to kill him when he represented the Akash brothers in court over the drug trafficking case.
Further, Ombeta added, the United States mistreated the two brothers given that they were not given a fair chance to defend themselves in the court.
