Garissa County Speaker Abass Ibrahim has said that Garissa County is supporting the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Garissa town, Ibrahim said Garissa County is in full support of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Ibrahim said the BBI initiative will help the people of Garissa and also address vital issues that the county is facing.

The Speaker said the county is ready to support recommendations of BBI if the public at the grassroots are involved in the imminent changes to the Constitution under BBI.

“Garissa County is behind the BBI that is going to cater for the needs of not only people in our county but the whole country,” said Ibrahim as quoted by standardmedia.co.ke.

Also present during the meeting was Kanu chairman Gideon Moi who said he is fully supporting the BBI and challenged the members in the BBI team to ensure they are working to meet the expectations of Kenyans.

Gideon said that he is also supporting President Uhuru on his move to achieve the Big Four Agenda for the Country.

“The country has to decide what brings the element of inclusivity and betterment for Kenyans," said Gideon.
