Kibra is perceived as the political bedrock of ODM since party leader Raila Odinga was the area MP for about two decades when it was part of the larger Lang'ata constituency.

ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna recently termed Kibra Raila's 'bedroom' and vowed they will not let it be snatched from him.

The opposition outfit is banking on Imran Okoth to retain the seat that fell vacant following the death of his brother Ken Okoth three months ago.

However, Falhada has warned ODM that it is about to lose its stronghold to Jubilee party courtesy of its candidate McDonald Mariga.

"Bedroom in Kibra is about to be changed to a new one with new bedcovers a king size one that is going to help community and residence of kibra and the new bedcover is non other than Mariga17!!! Kibra hooyee!!!!" the Jubilee legislator tweeted on Wednesday.

Mariga has received massive backing from Deputy President William Ruto and a number MPs allied to the Tanga Tanga faction, and have been crisscrossing the constituency campaigning for the former Harambee Stars international.

However, legislators allied to Kieleweke led by Nominated MP Maina Kamanda have endorsed Imran who they refer to as the handshake candidate.

Both Mariga and Imran are expected to face stiff competition from Eliud Owalo of Musalia Mudavadi-led Amani National Congress (ANC).
