Duale on his Facebook page said that a journalist from Nation Media was running a story claiming that he was associated with a company that the reporter was investigating.

The Garissa Township MP on the post revealed that in 2015, Nation Media had claimed that two companies associated with him were awarded two contracts worth Sh400 million by the Geothermal Development Company (GDC).

The top managers of GDC at that time were being investigated by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Duale, however, revealed that he is not associated with the companies in question adding that he will sue Nation Media Group if they run the story.

“In 2015, August Nation media Group ran a fake story on some companies allegedly associated with me. They are again trying to extort money and blackmail me by running another fake story by one Journalist Brian Wasuna tomorrow (today),” noted Duale in part of the post.

“The company in question is Concordia. I'm not a party to the company nor I'm I the Director. If they run the fake story I will sue Nation Media for defamation. I have provided all the necessary details to the editor. Attached are my legal documents for them to do their assignment well,” he added.

The MP claims that he has provided all documents that could have helped the writer working on the story to do a professional job but "sadly the company has decided to go the gutter route by publishing pure falsehoods into the name of investigative journalism.”
