A man said to be a taxi driver has been arrested in Homa Bay in connection with the kidnapping and subsequent killing of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
The man who has been identified as Jack Gombe was arrested on Monday and will be detained for at least two weeks to help the police identify and arrest the killers of the student whose body was found dumped in Kodera Forest.
Police on Monday said they are also pursuing a second vehicle linked to the kidnapping of Sharon and Daily Nation journalist Barack Oduor who managed to escape.
The arrested taxi driver, according to a local leading daily newspaper, is said to have driven the dark car that was identified in a witness statement to the police.
Migori Governor Okoth Obado's personal assistant is already in police custody helping police with investigations into the brutal killing of Sharon who is said to have been raped before being murdered.
