A Kenyan woman was on Monday stabbed to death by an unknown person (s) in India.
Police reports from India indicate that the woman who was only identified as Annsam was staying at Chhattarpur Extension in South Delhi.
The Indian Express indicates that the Kenyan woman was stabbed in the chest with a knife by an unknown person.
Police sources say the woman was staying with other Kenyan women, and it was one of the women who called the police to report the killing.
“We received a call at 8.10 pm from a Kenyan woman, claiming that her sister had been killed. We rushed to the spot and took the woman to AIIMS, where doctor declared her dead on arrival,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar as quoted by Indian Express.
One woman who lived close to the deceased's apartment has already been arrested by detectives for questioning. Police say the woman had picked a fight with the deceased after she denied her some liquor a few days ago.
Other Kenyan women who lived with the deceased are also being probed.
“The boyfriend admitted that his girlfriend had an altercation with Annsam over a bottle of beer. As of now, the Kenyan woman is a suspect. The man's role in the crime is being investigated," one of the detectives said.
This is the second Kenyan to die in a foreign country within a week after Norah Chelagat Borus, the top girl in 2013 KCSE, was found dead in the US.
