Supportesr of both Raila Odinga and William Ruto traded barbs ahead of Friday's meeting of the duo in a funeral at Nyamira.
In various social media forums, Mau evictions dominated the debate with each side defending their positions.
In Kitutu Masaba Forum WhatsApp group, Ruto supporters accused Raila of sabotage adding that they will fight back vehemently.
"Raila is inciting Uhuru Kenyatta on Mau evictions. We know his dirty politics and we may be forced to tell him off on Friday," said Kibet Mantic.
Edward Moseti added: "Ruto is the most popular politician at the moment. We are aware that Raila has panicked. He should join us and move the country forward."
But in a quick rejoinder, Peter Maroro, a former ODM MCA insisted that Ruto should take his 'problems' elsewhere adding that they are ready for him.
"It is worthy to note that Raila is not serving in any government. Ruto should carry his own cross and leave us alone," he said.
Both Raila and Ruto had confirmed attendance for Ndemo Nyagarama, Governor John Nyagarama's son, who will be laid to rest on Friday in Borabu.
Politicians from either camp called for ceasefire ahead of the burial, which would also have Chief Justice David Maraga in attendance.
