Lately, there have emerged two factions within Jubilee with a section of MPs backing Ruto's 2022 bid while another faction pushing for Uhuru's agenda.

"Let us not pretend. We have those in 'Tanga Tanga' and some others in 'Kitaeleweka," said nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura in reference to divisions.

Reports indicated that the two principals met on Friday to iron out the issues and subsequently agreed to have a PG which would be cancelled later on Tuesday.

And Bogonko now says Uhuru's focus would make if difficult for Ruto to hit back in the event of betrayal.

"Kenyans are not interested in politics and this complicates the situation. The president insists that he is committed to service delivery and this even throws Ruto in a limbo.

"The moment he raises an alarm, Uhuru would portray him as a detractor of peace this even affect his popularity. He can't really rebel at the moment," he said.

A section of Rift Valley leaders have openly accused office of the president of allegedly sabotaging Ruto's 2022 bid.

But Bogonko, a renowned historian says history will favour Uhuru over Ruto thus making it difficult for early campaigns.
