In a tense meeting, Uhuru accused the MP of speaking to the media often, adding that majority of MPs had absconded responsibilities.

“The President was particularly angry with an outspoken Kiambu MP for engaging the media. We have sworn not to speak to the press. The reports on our Naivasha meeting misquoted the proceedings,” one MP claimed.

After the meeting, Uhuru warned the MPs not to take his silence for 'granted', adding that he will not hesitate to ask electorates kick out those 'loitering' and 'politicking'.

None of the MPs was willing to speak to the press with a source indicating that Uhuru censored them from using media to articulate their grievances.

“Hingo ciothe no kanua kanua kanua. Mundu ararora cia ruciu na ndambite gutimiza cia umuthi? (Some people are always talking about tomorrow but they have done nothing today.) If you are not working, go home and let us get other leaders. People should reduce politicking and work,” said the President. https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/Uhuru-Kenyatta-reads-riot-act-to-Mt-Kenya-MPs-/3126390-4833126-n6rn78z/index.html.

Lately, two factions have emerged in the populous Mt Kenya region with Moses Kuria, the outspoken Gatundu South MP leading a camp for DP William Ruto and Nyeri Town's Ngunjiri Wambugu spearheading another team focusing on cementing the legacy of the president.

Mr Kuria is synonymous in the media houses and often never hestiates to defend the DP. He also accompanies Mr Ruto across the country, another indication that he could have been on the receiving end from the president.

Though very unlikely, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah is also a proponent of Ruto's presidency but he rarely accompanies him to functions.

While Uhuru has not publicly denounced Ruto, he's however against what he calls 'persistent politicking and loitering', something synonymous with Ruto's camp.
