Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has opened up on why he is supporting Deputy PresidentWilliam Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Khalwale argues that Ruto is the only sober politician who is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
Speaking during an interview on Milele FM Drive Show on Thursday evening, Khalwale said Ruto is a man of his word and qualifies to be the country's fifth president.
“William Samoei Ruto will be president in 2022 after Uhuru and those trying to frustrate him will be so ashamed,” he said during the interview.
The former Senator noted that DP Ruto is a development-oriented leader who the country needs to achieve her goals.
He added that Ruto’s presidency is "ordained by God" and he will be the first 'hustler' to rule the country in 2022.
Khalwale denied claims that he has been 'bought' to support DP Ruto’s 2022 presidency.
The former Senator asked Kenyans to stand with Ruto when the time comes in 2022. “It will be disastrous if the country leadership ends in the hands of selfish politicians and Kenyans must be wise by electing Ruto,” he added.
The former Kakamega Senator at the same time hit out at critics who he accused of using propaganda and malicious tactics to taint DP Ruto’s name.
Ruto is among top politicians eyeing to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022. President Kenyatta is serving his last term in office.
