Ex-Bonchari Member of Parliament Protus Momanyi Kebati protested the government's excessive borrowing, adding that it's not healthy for the economy.

He said President Uhuru Kenyatta may after all not leave any legacy because of over borrowing and corruption in government.

"It is worrying that President Uhuru instead of fighting corruption to ensure those who have stolen millions of shillings returns the money, he is busy borrowing. There will be no legacy he will leave behind apart from corruption," he said.

Mr Kebati, who served as MP in the 1990s, regretted that the Sh210 billion Eurobond will be misappropriated by the regime.

The ex-lawmaker urged Kenyans to brace for hard economic times ahead because the borrowed money must be repaid through huge taxes.

"Kenyans should get ready to pay the loans being borrowed by Mr Kenyatta's government. Eradication of poverty in Kenya will never be achieved given the high rate of the government borrowing and stealing of public money," he stated.
