The two have been ordered to pay the fine within a month, failure to which they risk being imprisoned for one month.

Kisumu High Court Judge Tripsisa Cherere delivered the ruling in the absence of the two.

The court was, however, told that they were grieving following the demise of their mother Mama Dorcas Owino Nyong’o.

Mama Dorcas died earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Governor Nyong’o and his sister failed to appear in court for sentencing.

Their absence forced the judge to forward the sentencing to Thursday (today).

In October last year, Justice Cherere ordered Nyong’o and his sister to include their nephews in the list of beneficiaries of property left behind by their late father Shimei Nyong’o.

However, Nyong'o and the sister did not abide to the court order. The case was filed by Kenneth Okuthe, who is Governor Nyong’o’s cousin.

The property in contention includes parcels of land in Miwani, Manyatta, and East Rata in Seme sub-county, valued at Sh200 million.
