Led by ODM politician Samuel Omwando and former Bonchari MP Protus Kebati, the leaders stated that Maangi should stick to the opposition policies.

"Maangi should know he was sponsored on an opposition party. His closeness with DP Ruto must stop for the sake of showing respect to the ODM party," said Omwando.

The vocal politician said DP Ruto's integrity is questionable and therefore, leaders not only from the opposition coalition but also from Jubilee should avoid making an alliance with him.

"Recently a survey released by Ipsos ranked DP Ruto as the most corrupt leader hence Maangi and company should avoid DP Ruto because he is a person of questionable integrity. Maangi should focus on helping governor Ongwae serve the electorates and not loitering around with DP Ruto," he said.

On his part, Kebati said Maangi's alliance with DP Ruto will cost him in 2022 when he will be vying for the gubernatorial seat.

"Kisii County is an opposition zone and Maangi may find it hard to succeed his boss in 2022 because the electorates will vote for a candidate vying on an opposition party specifically ODM party. I wish to advise Maangi to stop his alliance with Ruto early," he said.
