Orange Democratic Movement party has disowned a message circulated on social media where it allegedly kicked out Senator Okong'o Mogeni, a senior lawyer attached to Raila Odinga's defense team.
In the message, the author claimed that county leadership had reached on the decision to disown Mr. Mogeni for being 'too silent' on corruption scandals allegedly being perpetuated by Governor John Nyagarama's government.
In a brief statement, ODM Youth League leader Dennis Marube said the party was still behind Mr. Mogeni.
"I wish to distance the ODM party and office from these malicious allegations being peddled by idlers. Our office is still in support of the Senator.
"However as the youthful brigade we shall convene a meeting soon to look into issues surrounding 2022 politics and give our position. We however call upon our senator Snr. Counsel Okong'o Omogeni to play his oversight role and condemn the rampant corruption in Nyamira," he said.
A section of youths led by Patrick Matoke had also accused the first time senator of allegedly being insensitive with his job.
Collectively, they said, Mr. Mogeni had absconded his duties thus their worry.
"He is a fence sitter and we shall not tolerate him anymore," said Matoke, the president of Chuka University Student Union.
