A video of an Asian woman accusing Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris of grabbing her land has gone viral.
Alka Roshanlal Hanspal is claiming Passaris grabbed her property worth millions of shillings in the posh Kitisuru suburb within Nairobi County.
Addressing the media on Saturday in Mombasa, she said her life was in danger when in Nairobi. Roshanlal said her woes began after suing the Passaris which forced her to relocate to Mombasa.
In the video doing rounds on social media, the woman who said she is a widow said Passaris moved to their house in 2006 just like any other tenant.
She went further to state that Passaris was allowed into the house even before she could sign a tenant-landlord agreement, and she stayed in the house for one year without signing any agreement because they could not agree on some terms and conditions.
Roshanlal said that they could not agree on anything with Passaris.
“Eventually I had to ask her (Esther Passaris) to leave, but she went to my brother-in-law and made a tenant agreement for two years after which she was allowed to live there because they made my husband sign and that time my husband was under disability, he was under stroke, I am not sure if he was aware of what was going on at that time,” she stated.
She further revealed that she been going to court to have Passaris evicted from her property but, she claims, Passaris has been using other ways to 'fight' back, including skipping court sessions.
"I am calling upon the IG, DCI, CJ, Mr Maraga, DPP, or anyone who is in authority to try and get me justice, at least now," she pleaded arguing that "The image that she (Passaris) is portraying is not hers, she is not a nice person, and most of all, I don't think she should be representing women in this county."
