In the wake of the Garissa University attack that led to the loss of 148 lives, outspoken Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale threatened to expose those behind the attack.
The legislator, in a press conference while flanked by other North Eastern Kenya leaders, had promised to make public the names of the masterminds in 30 days, filling Kenyans with hope that those who planned the massacre would be brought to book.
That promise, three years on after the attack, has never been fulfilled.
This led to an uproar on social media with Kenyans accusing the combative lawmaker of taking them for a ride.
In spite of the criticism that his reneging on the promise caused, Duale has never made the point of explaining why he did not name individuals behind the terrorist attack that shocked the conscience of the world.
Al-Shabaab claimed that it carried out the attack to pressure the Kenyan government to withdraw its forces from Somalia, a demand which was rejected out of hand by the Uhuru-led administration.
