Haji and Kinoti have pledged to purchase speed boats for Ndau and Faza Island residents to empower them financially.

Speaking during a community dialogue forum with Faza residents on Wednesday, Haji and Kinoti were saddened by the high poverty levels among the residents.

The duo promised to purchase boats from their own savings to help locals generate income.

Haji and Kinoti said the speed boats will be managed by women, youths, persons living with disabilities and elderly persons.

"Our pledge and promise is that we are going to do something that will in a way change your lives for a better way," Haji told Faza Island residents on Wednesday.

Kinoti on his side lauded police officers in Ndau and Faza Island for their commitment to service delivery.

He said the Island is one of the few regions with no complaints against the police.

Haji is leading a team of officials in the justice sector in 'All for Justice' service week in Lamu county.

The service week began on Monday and ends on Saturday.

According to Haji, the service week will see petty offenders released from prisons.

The DPP further says the service week dialogue seeks to sensitize residents on alternative approaches to judicial proceedings.

"Our key focus is to expedite judicial proceedings and we are partnering with agencies like Judiciary to expedite cases," he said.

The DPP said that judicial actors need to work together in ensuring speedy justice to Kenyans.
