Speaking in Athi River, Mavoko sub-county on Sunday, Sonko said that most leaders have concentrated on premature 2022 politics instead of supporting the president to accomplish his Big Four agenda.

"Some people should stop misleading Kenyans and support President Uhuru Kenyatta. If I see they are not supporting him, these people will give signatures that will add the president a few more years in power," said Sonko.

He said that some Cabinet Secretaries and legislators have been on the forefront in derailing development in the country.

He urged the leaders to instead throw weight behind the president in his quest to develop the country.

"Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament those in Kieleweke and Tangatanga; stop politicking and support the president to finish his work," he said.

Sonko had arrived in Athi River to launch 'Team Wanjiku' movement flanked by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Embakasi South MP Julius Mawathe, EALA MP Simon Mbugua, former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile among other leaders.

Makau took the chance to ask Sonko to speak to President Uhuru in a bid to help deal with a land sage pitting East Africa Portland ltd.

Sonko later distributed food to vulnerable groups from the region.
