Speaking after chairing a night meeting at the Weston Hotel, where MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto met to discuss the ongoing crisis in Jubilee, Murkomen appeared unapologetic over his recent remarks when he appeared on a local TV for an interview.

During the interview, Murkomen said he does not support the lifestyle audit as announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta who is his party leader.

The remarks, among others from several Rift Valley MPs, are what necessitated the closed-door meeting.

However, Murkomen said though they remain loyal to Jubilee, they have issues with certain quarters.

“We cannot be loyal to the Jubilee family, its leadership and founding values while at the same time condoning retrogressive, destructive and divisive agendas. Our strong stand against these connivances as well as their perpetrators is therefore fully consistent with our total loyalty and commitment,” he said.

During the TV interview, Murkomen blamed unnamed people in government whom he claimed are misleading President Kenyatta as it targets to sabotage DP Ruto’s 2022 bid.
