Amid fears within the Jubilee Party that President Uhuru Kenyatta might renege on the pledge to support him in 2022 at the end of his term, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale thinks otherwise.

Duale who is a key Ruto ally is reading from a different script even as he insists that the relationship between the president and his deputy is solid.

Duale who dismissed 'prophets of doom' insists that the Uhuru succession plan will go on as planned and that those thinking otherwise should be prepared for a rude shock.

"“The two leaders are focusing to bring development, they share a vision and they are close, anybody saying otherwise is lying,” Duale told a mainstream publication.

“President Kenyatta has repeatedly said he will as the party leader lead the campaigns to have Ruto succeed him and anyone thinking to the contrary is pushing for disunity of Jubilee and we will denounce them," added the National Assembly Majority leader.

Tension in Jubilee escalated after the famous handshake between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga with a section of Ruto allies claiming that the deal was a plot to thwart the DP's State House dreams.
