It was bad news for a certain clique of government officials who believed they had networks within State House to leak President Uhuru Kenyatta’s plans.
The powerful persons got wind that President Kenyatta had called media to State House and knew something was cooking.
The quickly picked their phones and reached their tipsters within the house on the hill.
“Some influential people tried making calls to find out what was happening, but they realised it was only the President who had the answers,” a senior State House official, who spoke in confidence, told Sunday Nation.
The source said secrecy has become Uhuru’s new modus operandi.
Not even his handlers knew what was about to be announced. This was exposed as even State House’s communication team led by Kanze Dena had no press statement to send to newsrooms after the announcement which the media had been called for.
